  • Orthotopic tumor models aim to replicate the clinical setting of tumor growth and progression by implanting these cells or tissues at their anatomically correct or appropriate location within the body of an experimental animal. This model meticulously reproduces the tumor's natural microenvironment, encompassing tissue-specific architecture, cell-cell interactions, and vasculature, thereby providing a more authentic representation of tumor-host interaction. The data derived from these models are expected to closely reflect clinical reality, serving as a more precise indicator for biomarker identification and generation of clinical trial strategy, thus reducing risk while improving the prognostic significance of preclinical research outcomes.

Orthotopic tumor models empower researchers to dive deeper into tumor characteristics providing critical insight into the progression of R&D programs. Over the past two decades, Medicilon has amassed a wealth of experience in tumor model research. Our commitment to innovation has resulted in over 440 tumor models, of which approximately 50 are Orthotopic tumor models. The Medicilon team is comprised of highly experienced trained professionals who are able to execute complex procedures with accuracy and precision. Providing our clients with reliable, reproducible and advanced research solutions.

  • Syngeneic Models

The orthotopic cancer model assesses the interaction between tumor cells and drugs in their natural organ/microenvironment and monitors tumor growth in situ. We have a variety of mature orthotopic transplantation models available, including brain, liver, lung, tibial bone marrow cavity, and intravesical orthotopic transplantation models.
