Pharmacology & Pharmacodynamics

Keeping pace with industrial development and market demand, Medicilon's experienced Pharmacology and Pharmacodynamics Department has established a complete animal model library based on verification, precise and efficient drug efficacy testing. The test subjects we provide include non-human primates, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, and miniature pigs.

Xenograft Models
We can provide various xenograft models to test the effectiveness of drugs according to our clients' requirements. Typical diseases include head and neck cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer and pancreatic cancer, with mice, rats and hamsters as test subjects. We are committed to providing clients with mature orthotopic models for evaluating the in vivo efficacy of ADC, completing the modeling and feeding of model animals in an AAALAC-accredited environment, and relevant pharmacodynamic evaluation experiments standards of a GLP level.

PDXO Models
Medicilon initiated the development of in vitro organoid platform and constructed patient-derived xenograft organoid (PDXO) models for preclinical anti-cancer drug efficacy evaluation. So far we have established 9 PDXO models, including 4 human colon cancer PDXOs, 1 pancreatic cancer PDXO, 2 gastric cancer PDXOs, 1 leukemia PDXO and 1 prostate cancer PDXO. For each established model, we conducted bright field imaging analysis, H&E staining-based histological analysis and whole exome sequencing. Meantime, we are capable of running in vitro drug screening on PDXOs using CTG assay, conducting transfection assays on PDXOs, etc.

Digestive System Disease Models
We can provide multiple animal models (including renal failure, anemic animal, gastric acid secretion animal, and gastric ulcer models) to test drug effectiveness according to client needs. We can conduct tests on typical digestive system diseases, including gastric acid secretions, gastric ulcers, and renal failure, using rats as subjects.

Endocrine & Metabolic Disease Models
In the field of metabolic diseases, we have a portfolio of stable and effective animal models, including for Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).

Inflammatory & Immune Diseases Models
As the pathogenesis of inflammatory and immunological diseases is unclear, there are few effective therapeutic drugs available in clinical practice. In this context, the appropriate preclinical research techniques and models are required to help companies and researchers further develop and evaluate new drugs. Our Preclinical Pharmacodynamics Department has been involved in this field for years, developing reliable animal-based efficacy evaluation models aimed at different targets and pathways, thus facilitating the clinical transformation of new drugs.
