In diagnosis, histopathological diagnosis is considered as the gold standard to determine diseases and their status. Before the body shows obvious clinical symptoms, the influence of drugs on the body tissues and organs can be found through histopathological examination, so providing a reference for the prevention and treatment of diseases. In drug filing, relevant institutions pay great attention to the results of histopathological diagnosis because such results can provide an important basis for judging the potential harm degree of the drugs to be filed. The guidelines issued by various regulatory agencies also require histopathological diagnosis results of short-term toxicity, sub chronic toxicity, chronic toxicity and carcinogenicity tests. For pathological diagnosis, we can provide pathological diagnosis services for many kinds of animals, including but not limited to rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs, non-human primates and miniature pigs;For toxicity testing, we provide rich experience, especially in short-term toxicity tests, subchronic toxicity tests, chronic toxicity tests and carcinogenicity research;For the diagnosis requirements of special tissues and organs requested by clients, we provide active exploration methods and solutions to meet fully the pathological diagnosis requirements including drug filing. In addition to routine paraffin section H&E staining, we are also available for frozen section, special staining, immunohistochemical staining, TCR, etc. to provide diagnostic services, to meet the needs of clients for tissue observation of specific tests.

At present, the microscopes used for diagnosis in Medicilon are mostly OLYMPUS, and each microscope is equipped with a corresponding imaging system to meet the shooting requirements of clients for special histopathological changes. The multi-head OLYMPUS optical microscope is available for multiple people to observe slices and diagnose at the same time, and can also provide help for study and consultation. The Leica microscope (with imaging system) for immunofluorescence observation can meet the requirements of clients for detecting special components by immunofluorescence method. In addition, our new Leica Aperio GT450 scanner can scan slices in batches, convenient for sharing and checking digitized slices.

In 2020, Medicilon was granted the Evaluation Certificate for Inter-laboratory Comparison for Toxicological Pathology Laboratories by the Committee of Toxicological Pathology, CST.
